Buying a Property

Buying a property can be an exciting yet daunting experience and there can be traps involved, see us early, before you sign a contract! Conveyancing can seem unnecessarily complicated, especially given properties are bought and sold every day. We aim to make the process uncomplicated and understandable, with our no-nonsense approach.

selling a property

So, you have finally sold your property. You have dealt with the agent, you have dealt with the hordes going through your property. You are over the constant cleaning in preparation. Now sit back and let Northside Family Law Centre handle your Sale. We will complete your settlement in the quickest and most convenient manner.

Execution of Orders

Transfer of property after separation:Often parties agree to transfer property from joint names to one party. This can save the costs of sale and minimize uncertainty with respect to sale price and the time it takes to sell a property. We can see a property settlement matter through from start to finish, including attending to transfers of property, saving you time and money. If property is being transferred under Family Law orders or an agreement, the transfer should be exempt from stamp duty.

Important Questions To Ask When Choosing Your Conveyancer

Not all conveyancers, or prices, are the same!
A conveyancer is a qualified professional whose job it is to provide advice and information about the sale or purchase of a property, prepare the documentation and conduct the settlement process. Conveyancers don't necessarily have to be lawyers but solicitors often undertake this work. The most common reasons you would engage a conveyancer is when you are:
  • Buying or Selling a property
  • Updating a title (i.e. registering a death)
  • Registering, changing, or removing an easement
You should always ask what your conveyance does and does not cover. What additional charges there may be, or what happens in certain events.
  • What types of property do you mainly specialise in?
  • What will it cost - what are your fees and charges
  • Are these a fixed fee?
  • What do your fees cover?
  • Are there any hidden costs?
  • Will there be additional costs?
  • How will you communicate with me and how often?
  • On settlement day, what time frames are we looking at? (This is important if you are arranging moves and other parties)
