Consent orders can be made to finalise Parenting, Property and Spousal Maintenance matters.
A consent order can be made without the need to attend Court.  If court proceedings are already in progress, consent orders can be made at any time, right up until judgment is delivered.
Once a consent order is made the parties are bound by the terms of the order.

It is not uncommon for parties to come to an agreement regarding the arrangements for their children and how their property is to be divided.  Usually agreements reached by parties are more workable and better reflect the parties' individual circumstances than orders that are imposed by a Judge.  Although Judges are extremely well trained and compassionate, no one knows your family like you do.

Here at Northside Family Law Centre, we are experienced in helping parties negotiate workable and fair consent orders regarding Parenting, Property and Spousal Maintenance.  This is the most cost effective way to resolves family law disputes.

Property
Property consent orders specify how the property will be allocated on a final basis.

Property consent orders can also provide mechanisms for the sale of property, including how a real estate agent is appointed, how a listing price is set and how the sale proceeds are divided.
Parenting
Parenting consent orders specify whether parents have equal, shared parental responsibility, with whom the children will live, how much time the children will spend with the other parent (or whether there will be shared care), how the children will communicate with each parent (i.e. by telephone, FaceTime and / or Skype) and can also set out any special orders.

Parenting consent orders can have "stepping up" provisions where the time that the children spend with the parent they do not live with is gradually increased.  This is especially helpful if children are very young.
Spousal Maintenance
Spousal maintenance consent orders can provide for a lump sum payments, or periodic payments of spousal maintenance over a certain time.
